lyrics

Images of suffering, glowing on my screen
But I am just one man, I do all that I can
Though I lived a life of privilege and safety
The guilt it lingers still, festering inside me
I know I can't save them all
But I thought I could save just one
What am I fighting for?
When there's no justice anymore?
We all die alone

We don't want the truth
We don’t want to be set free
I'd rather take my chance with him, and focus on my greed
We don't want a tyrant
We won't surrender democracy
But it's hard to have faith when everything is crashing down around me
Now find myself considering
How to escape from this doom impending
Human rights are now a national debate
Some say the cost is too great, it's not our sacrifice to make
Midwestern farmers fearing immigrants
Believe in an invasion without evidence
Evangelicals protest abortion
While churches use their people for extortion
Hereditary machinations
Spanning countless generations
Feasting on the ignorance of disenfranchised populations
Radicalize our elders, turn them against their children
Sowing conflict from within
Worldwide protests against regimes
While we post on social media political memes
Exhausting conversations, and semantic tribulation
Geopolitical situations, systematic isolation
Even those I used to respect
Have had their minds twisted and wrecked
It's not just me you leave behind
It's everything
A swan song for a broken man
This is your legacy of nothing
I'd rather die than face myself
The truth has always been my personal hell
All I have left is this pathetic sack of flesh
And with this rope, my mind I now thresh

Images of suffering, glowing on my screen
But I am just one man, I did all that I can
Though I lived a life of privilege and safety
The guilt it lingers still, festering inside me
I know I can't save them all
But I thought I could save just one
What are we fighting for?
When there's no justice anymore?

There is only one way to escape
I'll take the easy way out, better now than wait
Don't lament my loss, this is my fate
This was my decision to make
As The air escapes from my lungs
Vision blackens, limbs go numb
Hanging lifeless in my home
Now I finally won't have to feel alone

We all die alone
